</div><div align="center">7. Noche de chicas<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggKsZo-TrpVhiVqxSwjYxqaERfjZTA_iQCqppXblYc3Cqy5bMtE3NwgmhxMgLW1fb1rqYZrWi-IEFrqCZqmRwSHM4r3Mx2E9H1Yv3FDNAaBmr_I-8QJoqSpdHNrPqIH7iwZXVKDpokcGaf/s1600/DSC02254.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" nx="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggKsZo-TrpVhiVqxSwjYxqaERfjZTA_iQCqppXblYc3Cqy5bMtE3NwgmhxMgLW1fb1rqYZrWi-IEFrqCZqmRwSHM4r3Mx2E9H1Yv3FDNAaBmr_I-8QJoqSpdHNrPqIH7iwZXVKDpokcGaf/s320/DSC02254.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
8. "¿Qué quieres ser cuando seas grande?"<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQVHpqGbKPfuGpoZw4i-nRGYgrJ6um4neK0aJycz6p45FBhkzZuInyl6TGHnjB-Z0K_k9f4RuURrorZQ39VBXEN3sTKaIb7NNTRSv1hC_QOZpVMI-SkP8eMd25Er5bZoujC7YB4WN7zJHB/s1600/DSC02268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQVHpqGbKPfuGpoZw4i-nRGYgrJ6um4neK0aJycz6p45FBhkzZuInyl6TGHnjB-Z0K_k9f4RuURrorZQ39VBXEN3sTKaIb7NNTRSv1hC_QOZpVMI-SkP8eMd25Er5bZoujC7YB4WN7zJHB/s320/DSC02268.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
9. "Ponte Lento" (Get crocked)<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikLdosPUXFIY6dEp1sfdTYMJ-E0YyOaXRbaMZtgt3jsSsQIIW7XHJ77JzNtr0-4vKAJuABu1FLvU0s6fka0HGfq0-0VX-qpI54JyuPMQa23j8N29AqOlt6zwVYxe-5mi-DjqtX6YnGX5mP/s1600/DSC02271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikLdosPUXFIY6dEp1sfdTYMJ-E0YyOaXRbaMZtgt3jsSsQIIW7XHJ77JzNtr0-4vKAJuABu1FLvU0s6fka0HGfq0-0VX-qpI54JyuPMQa23j8N29AqOlt6zwVYxe-5mi-DjqtX6YnGX5mP/s320/DSC02271.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
10. "El hombre de nieve"<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeelnKoVoGIMgM59Npm99rNWw8y_YbesT9Ual6IZWm4RomhY7jTPQF6g9yRXSbdjdSg_t6BG5AKEM_MhE1AVYN21Zqz7dPeothhMnnd-BKkgf2DAidSdXrDHiGRxdAOUzd4i2aKoxIp563/s1600/DSC02272.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeelnKoVoGIMgM59Npm99rNWw8y_YbesT9Ual6IZWm4RomhY7jTPQF6g9yRXSbdjdSg_t6BG5AKEM_MhE1AVYN21Zqz7dPeothhMnnd-BKkgf2DAidSdXrDHiGRxdAOUzd4i2aKoxIp563/s320/DSC02272.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
12. Simplemente elegante<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq65ab4ZuqQBLYl-wo1NwGcvvkn94UwMo4h3lxg4VF3RKEIsZ598SB6TiDqaOGlpoNuZvpRUC9Rc7stvjoPZ9xGwNIDknfwT9WcjfiSvF-pjz1JOsiPEM-hSCfBXp3QCzAbqcHiDtn05H5/s1600/DSC02277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq65ab4ZuqQBLYl-wo1NwGcvvkn94UwMo4h3lxg4VF3RKEIsZ598SB6TiDqaOGlpoNuZvpRUC9Rc7stvjoPZ9xGwNIDknfwT9WcjfiSvF-pjz1JOsiPEM-hSCfBXp3QCzAbqcHiDtn05H5/s320/DSC02277.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />

It got 1st place as "Most Artistic", "People's Choice" an "Judges Choice". It wa really amazing, the colors chosen were very modern and feminine. They decorated the table with "Lea Sophia" jewelry, picture frames with different sayings regarding friendship and girlfriends and it had little cerami placs with positive friendship quotes. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />

<br />
Yesterday (10-02-10) was a day full of challenges and also full of rewards. We were able to decorate our table for our 1st event. If you have been following our journey you know what I am talking about. We had the opportunity to decorate a table as part of a fundraiser for the "Dispute Resolution Center". We arrived at the location at 8:45am, and when I saw we, my youngest assistant, my oldest 8 year old daughter (she was a great help and did a very good job, she was also very exited to be a part of the event). Once we were there we began to decorate our table. We began by putting the tablecloth on and then the center piece in order to have a point of refference to follow. The table was a round 60 inch table, it could fit a 6 piece plate setting comfortably, we only set up a 4 piece table set (flatware, silverware and glass ware). In a table this size sometimes people try to fit up to 8 people in a table in order to save space and fit more people, know that for your guest this is pretty uncomfortable, just a quick tip, try not to do that. ;-)<br />
<br />
We decorated our table with all that we had purchased (see list in blog "Decorating table for the 1st event"). Soon we will be posting pictures of the event so that you can see how it all came out and you'll get to see the originallity of the other tables. In the meantime I will tell you that there were 19 tables decorated and we won the 3rd place in the "Most Artistic" category, which is huge accomplishment since it was the first time we participated in this event. Kathy was the name of the person who bid and won our table, she live in New Jersey. She was really exited to have been able to take home the table and explained that she spotted out table as soon as she walked in and immediately placed a bid on it. Also, she said that she will use all the decoration for her table during the upcoming Holiday Christmas Season.<br />
<br />
Stay with us in this journey to enjoy the upcoming pictures, ideas and the rest of the table decorations...Cynthia Hernandez http://www.blogger.com/profile/13068370110976724559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650084097917325054.post-36507153234890944492010-10-03T20:53:00.000-07:002010-10-03T20:53:58.167-07:00Decoración de Mesas para eventosEvent Planning Journey<br />
<br />
Tan pronto llegamos comenzamos a decorar nuestra mesa. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

The birthday girl wanted a themed birthday party. Obviously she did not want to duplicate any of her friend's birthdays, which is understandable, people want to be unique, different and special. The theme for the sweet sixteen birthday party was " Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada". A lot of the decorations were bought online. The colors were vibrant and different, not one table area was the same. The entry way was decorated by us with an arch way of balloons, along with 4 pillars of balloons. The main colors were black, red and black. <br />

<br />
Decorating for a girls birthday is simple. The first thing you need is a theme. During my oldest daughter's 1st birthday we decided to use the theme of the "Strawberry Shortcake". At the time, 2002, they had not yet put up for sale any decorations on the theme so I decided to hire a very talented woman to create all of the decorations related to the theme. The birthday decorations and accessories were completely personalized. With the help of one of my cousins we decorated the background with a huge arch of red and pink balloons. I also used helium balloons with strawberry shortcake stickers. the cake was made by one of my neighbors at the time who baked cakes as proffesion. The cake was a four tier pink and red round cakes and the cake on the base was part of the strawberry shortcake's body, I put glass strawberries all around the mirrored base and my daughter's picture at one side with her 1st year picture and a message regarding her name and personality. The keepsakes were strawberry shortcake magnets with my daughter's picture on it, chocolate bars with a personalized wrappers that had a very special "thank you" message that I wrote on behalf of my daughter for all of her guests.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid9_PBUI359jNc0kAlUdnegPPiGHg2XvO5ROSMQrB5Fjn4xwuJIroaJaIBoTDgm3M6rMuDRT5rwfv_Yw9Lla2NToXiCSdbXR-t1xd2-iETms69ZLYt4oHMHfE9o5konluG1jUylqIfGeFz/s1600/DSC01578.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" qx="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid9_PBUI359jNc0kAlUdnegPPiGHg2XvO5ROSMQrB5Fjn4xwuJIroaJaIBoTDgm3M6rMuDRT5rwfv_Yw9Lla2NToXiCSdbXR-t1xd2-iETms69ZLYt4oHMHfE9o5konluG1jUylqIfGeFz/s320/DSC01578.JPG" /></a></div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;">The use of color is very important not only to blend in the decorations, but to create a beautiful effect and a lasting impression on the guests. For outdoor birthday parties it is very important to keep the guest cool and dry from unpredictable weather, tarps can help in out door parties. </div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><u>3rd Birthday Party, again strawberry shortcake!!!</u></em></strong></div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><br />

For this birthday we added a green to the color theme. This birthday party we had to do it indoors because we were in New York, US. It was too cold and raining to be outside. An indoor or outdoor party can be beautiful as long as every detail is thought through and brings out the entire decoration or theme of the birthday party or event. In my daughters birthday even her dress was strawberry shortcake. My husband and I were clothes that matched the decoration colors so we could match...hahahaha!!! The pictures came out with pretty colors.</div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;">All the planning made for one happy little girl and a great Birthday Party!!! </div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />

We have and upcoming on October 2nd, 2010. We are joining a fundraiser event where we will be decorating a table to be auctioned off to the highest bidder in a silent bid. Check the right side of this blog for the details on the event.<br />
<br />
Our table theme will be "Sparkling Winter Garden", I got the name from one of the candles I purchased to decorate the table with. We got most of what we needed in Boscov Stores at Steam Town Mall in Scranton, PA. We bought a 6 piece table flat wear setting in off white in order to get that winter white effect we are looking for. The silver wear was a 4 piece set from the "Churehill" collection. We also purchased 2 crystal tea light candle holders in the shapes of diamonds around it to give it that sparkling look. The "sparkling winter garden" candles have water drops crystal clear on the bottom half. At the Hallmark store we found winter snow flakes charm bracelet that we are going to take apart and use all over the table to give it that effect of winter snow and extra shine. We also found a crystal vase with diamond cuts that when light reflects on it, it shines and sparkles. This was purchased at Ross in Wilkes-Barre, PA along with the table cloth from "Prego" & 4 piece "Diamante coolers" set that also have that diamond cut at the bottom to produce the same effect. Finally we were able to find all of the flowers for the center piece along with "iced" simulating branches and willow dropping beads at the arts and craft store, Michaels. Below you'll see the list of the items along with the brand name and original prices. Please keep in mind that as a good event planner we know the importance bargain shopping. We got all of these items on sale and paid much less to decorate this table.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">El resultado final (ver english blog).
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

We celebrated it on July 31st, 2010 at our home. We decided to celebrate it at our house as we had not had any big events since we had bought the house one year ago. We thought it was a great occasion to share our new home with family and friends. We decorated the dining room area with the cupcake/cake table and I began decorating the day before and played with different ideas until I was satisfied with then end result. On the pic. you see one of the attempts, cupcakes, party blowers for all the kids and the cake had not arrived but we had all the cake toppers on the table waiting in anticipation... </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvy1o-NDB4JGXVthklCkhLbzxJPO1xnfT5sd6l2z96tKU_I5KP5xNCn7Q2xsKGi77-j_S7QIasNlHAZmJZGxb3BEOnnPfjZ9-CMzQZICOoCuHdIDyuKsk_XXDKmng0QcRmZBZSxwIwR_Qr/s1600/DSC01228.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvy1o-NDB4JGXVthklCkhLbzxJPO1xnfT5sd6l2z96tKU_I5KP5xNCn7Q2xsKGi77-j_S7QIasNlHAZmJZGxb3BEOnnPfjZ9-CMzQZICOoCuHdIDyuKsk_XXDKmng0QcRmZBZSxwIwR_Qr/s320/DSC01228.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I decided to put my son's picture up on the table in order to make it more personal. The picture was also the picture used in all the "Thank you" cards, keeping the same theme through out is very important. I also decided to put he's Christening shoes on the table as a way to show that he is a child of GOD and is growing in the faith. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

The decoration theme was "Toy Story 3" and all the colors were selected according to the theme. The cupcakes and cake were decorated using the same color theme. The balloon arch blended in all the colors in the background giving it that extra "umf" for the pictures. I put his high chair in the back in anticipation for the big moment of singing "happy birthday" with his "bib" on it and on the table I put his very own special "birthday hat".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

All the kids and adults enjoyed the cupcakes, some even ahd seconds. I have the tradition also that family and very close friends where a shirt/blouse of the same color. For my son's birthday we wore green to match the birthday colors. My son had his very own cupcake with his #1 birthday candle. <br />
<br />

I was able to sit and have lunch with a very positive and inspirational person. She is a business owner and also owns several properties. It was great to be able to pick her business brain and to learn different terminologies and potential options that I can have available to succeed in this new journey. For one she confirmed to me things that I had researched like the importance of getting certified, studying further and gaining knowledge on event planning, bridal consulting and party planning, which are all similar terms. Creating a network is key to succeeding in this area, word of mouth is the best marketing tool. The reputation you establish with others is extremely important in getting that positive feedback and that trickle down effect that word of mouth creates. Your word is your bond, which simply means that if you say you are going to do something, you do it! In any business and in life in general if you do not follow through with things that you have committed to do, you have failed not only those you have let down, but more importantly yourself. <br />
<br />
During the lunch I realized also that this journey entails a bit more than I originally understood, and at the same time re=confirmed for me that this a challenge I am willing and more than committed to taking on! So continue following to see how this wonderful new journey turns out!!!<br />

PS: Thank You Shirley Felder for taking of your valuable time and spending it with me during lunch today.....Cynthia Hernandez http://www.blogger.com/profile/13068370110976724559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650084097917325054.post-12981629489539751342010-08-30T21:01:00.000-07:002010-08-30T21:01:54.765-07:00¡Aquí comenzó la jornada!(Fotos disponibles en el Blog English: "Where the journey Began!")<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

Our wedding was planned in it's entirely by me, of course the groom had some say in the process. The colors were Beige and Green with an accent of Red in the flower decorations. The hall was a small community hall but we were able to fit at least 150 people during the reception.<br />

I had the flower girls wear green sleeveless dresses with a beaded beige waist band and the back had 3 flowers that united the openned back of the dress with beige satin material making it look like petals of an open flower. The ring bearer was my nephew who refused to come out in the picture, but he was weaaring green victorian pants (knee length), a beige shirt with a lazo style tie.<br />

We had the Bride and Groom table where some of the family pictures were taken. This table was a half moon shapped table that was decorated with candles in candle holders and center piece flower arrangement that also had candles in it. The candle were also put on all of the tables where the guest were sitted. At one point during the "Toast" done by the best man (my uncle) all of the candles were litte up and made the reception look even more beautiful. We also had another area that was just for the wedding party. There was an area decorated as a garden with a bench and trees and lots of green plants that made the outside come in to the hall. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigCHMIXzfWYhXsCkSJptSZowAW64N362_K21ZJHb0y1x5GjaHzwxc6jLcQc43t7cA3ICfVLziaeQxrzOwl7Nu5bNCr8W1gFQkMuVEgX-tQi40FKL72iRDr8fK_FFqF6GyNjvGS4GWudVw3/s1600/DSC01587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigCHMIXzfWYhXsCkSJptSZowAW64N362_K21ZJHb0y1x5GjaHzwxc6jLcQc43t7cA3ICfVLziaeQxrzOwl7Nu5bNCr8W1gFQkMuVEgX-tQi40FKL72iRDr8fK_FFqF6GyNjvGS4GWudVw3/s320/DSC01587.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The wedding cake table is another one of the most important areas to decorate for the reception. It's a very important focal point and a great area for pictures. In our wedding the cake was all in foundant with hand made foundant flowers and leaves. It also had gold beads stratigecaly placed for that added bling. The cake toper was a small ceramic piece of a bride and groom under a flowered archway. </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">As you can see every detail is important, every area can be a picture perfect moment!</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
<br />
1. Necesito tener un plan (plan empresario)<br />
6. Un buen pnto a mi favor sería estar certificada y/o acreditada.<br />
<br />
<br />
You might ask, what made you think of even attempting to do this? I have always loved gatherings, parties, get-together, birthdays, christenings, weddings and anything that would constitute sharing time with people we love. With out knowing it I have been a planner all of my life. in school I was always involved in the different student groups, always involved in committees to organize and plan some event. In family events like one of my cousins bachelorette party, I decorated and put together the decorations, gifts for the bridal party. At another cousin's Quinceañera (15 year), I helped decorate, helped plan and was the co-MC. I also helped my sister with he entire wedding, from decorating the reception, church, doing the center pieces, doing and printing out the invitations and every detail possible. I planned my entire wedding and with the help of my family and friends decorated and put together the entire reception, I even had a say in the religious ceremony. When our life as a family started, I planned all of my children's birthday parties and as one of my best friends would say "they looked like weddings and sweet sixteens". I honestly don't know why I did not think of this sooner, and this phrase is probably one that many people have said to themselves after their internal light bulb comes on and they say "duh".<br />
<br />
<br />
In the research stage that I am at, I have learned:<br />
<br />
1. I need to have a plan (business plan) <br />
2. I need to know what services are going to be provided<br />
3. I will need to invest in some equipment (good printer, fax and cell phone)<br />
4. I will need a name (done), catch phrase or mission (done), Logo (work in progress, my husband is the artist)<br />
5. I will need to build on a network (my friends, family and definitely word of mouth)<br />
6. It's a big plus to be certified and credited<br />
<br />
Now I am at the stage of studying and looking into all of the options; how to?, when to? why to?, what to?, who to?, of this entire new journey that I am going to pursue. I know one thing for sure, i will begin small but once I am up and running, I will "go big or go home". <br />
<br />
<br />
So far this idea is tangible and real, I just need to keep the ball rolling and not stop. "Follow your dreams and know that they are not far from becoming true".Cynthia Hernandez http://www.blogger.com/profile/13068370110976724559noreply@blogger.com0
